The founder

Martin Lorenz is the founder of Reventless and a software architect with over 30 years of experience. He has spent his career designing and implementing systems for demanding domains — telecom, banking, payments, mobility, smart cities and IoT — for clients including Siemens, Atos/Eviden and Austrian financial institutions.

He has worked with event sourcing and CQRS since 2012, long before they became mainstream, applying Domain-Driven Design and functional programming to systems that need to be auditable, maintainable and built to last. AWS Serverless has been his platform of choice since 2019: from 2019 to 2025 he led the architecture and implementation of a fully serverless financial data platform on AWS that has been running reliably in production in the financial industry since 2019.

Why Reventless exists

Reventless grew directly out of that work. Development of the Reventless framework started in 2019, and it has run applications in production in the financial industry for more than six years. Since 2026 the same framework is open source, and its development continues in the open.

Event sourcing is the right architecture for most serious business applications — but the cost of adopting it has been prohibitive: complex manual wiring, no enforced type safety across the event boundary, no integrated path from local development to cloud production.

The mission is to remove those barriers: make event-sourced architecture the default choice for production serverless applications. The framework is relentlessly opinionated — it makes the hard choices so your team doesn't have to. The open-source core is free and never crippled; workshops, development support, training and technical consulting are how we help businesses put it to work.
